Guest Post: ‘One Tuf Cookie’ Explains “Mocha Moms” And What They Can Do For You

Hey awesome people! One Tuf Cookie here, once again and this time I’m spreading word about this beautiful organization called Mocha Moms, Inc. It is an organization that was developed in 1997 where this group of stay-at-home moms started publishing a newsletter to show love and support for each other and it eventually grew into what is a national 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization with over 100 chapters! Mocha Moms Inc. hosts various little functions including, “Moms Nights Out,” community book drives, social teas and group discussions on topics from breast feeding to entrepreneurship. They share literature and encourage awareness for situations like SIDS and postpartum depression and even many non-Parenting topics. Regular meetings, community activism and a feeling of comradery brings mommas (and dads, and grandparents alike) of all races, religions, social statuses and educational backgrounds together for the sole purpose of Support.
South Dekalb Mocha Moms
Chapters in Atlanta, the Washington D.C. area and other big cities are quite active, and they are able to partner with neighboring chapters. However, in the Greater Houston Area- believe it or not- only has very few! The North and West Houston Chapter of Mocha Moms, Inc. stands alone in it’s vast radius, which includes The Woodlands, Cypress, Spring, Katy and Humble and is looking to gain some new members for the New Year! They have lots of events scheduled for parents and their little ones and offer great opportunities to network and meet new friends. You might even want to join!
