Gabrielle Union Covers the March Confession Issue of ‘Women’s Health’ Magazine + She Shares her Wellness Tips & Her “MoneyMakers!”
“I sleep eight hours a day and don’t let myself stress out. A lot of people call it selfish, but I don’t have any wrinkles.”
Before I get into this post, I need to stand on this soap box –
Okay, so, for the past few days, we have discussed careers, interview tips, music, movies, money, but we have not discuss another key lifestyle element – FITNESS! Yea, I know you’re probably rolling your eyes because talking about fitness makes me think I already gained five pounds just by looking at the word! But, we gotta keep it real, we need to have wellness, nutrition and fitness apart of our daily regimen.
Gabrielle Union is a perfect example of having the right attitude…first. Then, she gets plenty of sleep, she exercises and lives a healthy lifestyle. She eats bacon, tacos and sips on cocktails, but, aha! She has a balance. Something we all need to work on.
Okay, I’m done. Y’all ready to get into this post? Here we go!
Multi-talented actress and activist, Gabrielle Union, covers the March confession issue of Women’s Health magazine. In the issue, the Being Mary Jane star discuss the keys to her youthful appearance, why she chooses to consistently workout and her favorite “moneymaker” body part.
Check out some excerpts from the interview:
Union discusses her youthful appearance and what works for her:
“I get asked all the time how I look so young. I don’t like needles. I’m not going to rule out Botox, but the idea of putting a needle in my face… I’m not there yet. I have pretty oily skin, I drink a lot of water, I don’t smoke, and I don’t have a hard life. Of course, as I’ve aged, everything on my body hurts! My hips, back, shoulders—lots of aches and pains. I dye my hair and people say, ‘You look young,’ but my gray hairs are saying, ‘She’s old as f-ck!'”
She shares why she has such a strong mindset when it comes to exercising:
“I have a family history of diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, and I know that can lead to an early death. I want to be a vital and energetic part of my family for a long time, not to be big mama in a rocking chair in the TV room, or huffing and puffing just going up stairs. I work out not because I get off on it, but because I want to live!”
Now that we know why the 44-year-old has strong views when it comes to working out, exactly what is her favorite body part that she considers her “moneymaker?”
“I love my arms because it’s where I get fast results. At my age, if I don’t work out for two weeks, it’s like I’ve never done anything, ever. But my arms come back quickly. I try to maintain my moneymakers.”
