BIRTHDAY BEHAVIOR – 37 Years & Counting: 10 Gems of Growth Along the Way

It is with gratitude that I awaken this day – July 22…

37 years after my first earthly breath.

Yahweh (God), I give you glory for new mercy that has been granted to me with today’s sunrise, I am indeed blessed and if you’re reading this, you are too.

I heard that the number 3 is often associated with the holy trinity and is also a symbol and or reflection of completeness. There are 3 attributes of Yahweh:

1. Omniscience: all knowing
2. Omnipresence: widespread/everywhere simultaneously
3. Omnipotence: limitless power/can do anything.

And let I not forget to mention that on the 3^rd day, the earth rose from the water, pretty symbolic of life or existence resurrected.

The number 7 reminds me much of the number 3. (I’m going to try not to shout…)

See, the number 7 represents completion, too, as well as perfection in the physical and spiritual states. You see, Yahweh created the earth in six days and as the sun began to set before mankind changed time and days, you know the Gregorian calendar and all…the 7^th day or the Sabbath day was upon us and His creation was complete.

So, based on this information, I’m inclined to believe that my purpose is being RESURRECTED as my troubles of this year, as well as things of the old, are COMPLETE! A worship song is playing in my head right now: “You make all things new, yes, you make all things new and I will follow You…FORWARD.”

That’s right, I’m continuing to move forward. For me, it’s simple, whatever days are behind me are just that, behind me. Even before today, I have had those “aha” moments where I have made peace with the mistakes or poor decisions I’ve made in business, relationships and in my spiritual walk. There’s not a single thing that I can do about what happened yesterday – good, bad or indifferent, except be accountable.

If an apology is ever in order for something that I have done, I’m on it. If I need to extend forgiveness, well, I’m on that too, it’s just that sometimes I have to work on my pace to extend it depending on the severity of the offense (I’m just being honest).

The essence of living is a constant journey of learning whether it is learning new things or learning more about one’s self. Either way, learn it in forward motion and only look back as a reference to view how far you’ve come. I am remaining committed to joyfully doing both.

Now, listen, I am not about to list 37 lessons or epiphany’s in celebration of arriving at my 37^th year of life, but I do want to share some gems, nonetheless, that have contributed to my growth on the path to 37, resurrected completion, and my continuity of forward motion.
