Learning to Say “No”

If the ask is not conducive to the best interest of the family at the moment, the answer is no. I’m not buying you a custom wig this month young lady because those funds can be better spent on your bookstore tab at that school. And, no I’m not buying you a new back flap young man; the regular football season has concluded so perhaps you should set your sites on getting new accessories next season if the Lord says the same. And now when I’m tied up at work I do not answer the phone when my daughter calls. Instead, I’ll send a text asking if her call is urgent or has some sort of intent and not just because she’s bored. The majority of the time she tells me “nope just trying to see what you’re doing”, lol.
